Ziżek jest postacią kontrowersyjną. To jednak można stwierdzić o wielu znanych osobistościach. Jest jednak człowiekiem wiernym swoim poglądom i trudnym do zaszufladkowania. Z jednej strony marksista, a z drugiej członek opozycji antykomunistycznej. Filozof, który swoje refleksje buduje nie w oparciu o Arystotelesa, ale kinowe przeboje ostatnich kilkudziesięciu lat.
Oto kolejna wyprawa intelektualna pod przewodnictwem Sławoja Żiżka. Trzeba przygotować się na zaskakujące powiązanie różnych faktów i zjawisk politycznych i kulturalnych, a na koniec jeszcze bardziej zdumiewające konkluzje. W zasadzie w dzisiejszych czasach używając marksistowskiej dialekty pozornie jest się na straconej pozycji. Nic więc dziwnego, że autor podejmuje się stanąć także W obronie przegranych spraw. Dialektyka i psychoanaliza w jego rękach przeradzają się jednak w bardzo niebezpieczne i skuteczne narzędzia, a nie każda sprawa zostaje przegrana.
Zwykle lektura dzieł Żiżka bardzo mnie wciąga i inspiruje intelektualnie. Mimo, że nie zawsze zgadzam się z autorem, to jednak zmusza on do nowego i niekonwencjonalnego spojrzenia na świat. Bardzo się cieszę, że pojawia się coraz więcej jego książek w tłumaczeniu na język polski.
