Marcin Wolski jest przede wszystkim satyrykiem. W jego utworach fantastyka miesza się z ironią i czarnym humorem. Dużą sławę przyniosły mu audycje w trzecim programie polskiego radia – 60 minut na godzinę.
Problem ewolucji zaprząta wielu pisarzy. Ewentualne ingerencje w ten proces istot z innych planet są tematem wielu powieści. Temat to na tyle nośny, że nie oparł mu się nawet Marcin Wolski. W książce Bogowie jak ludzie próbuje zmierzyć się z możliwością, iż naszymi przodkami byli nie tylko pierwotni hominidzi, ale także istoty z innego świata. Całość powieści została misternie skonstruowana. Na pozór odległe wątki stopniowo schodzą się ze sobą w kulminacyjnym momencie. Dziwne zniknięcia niektórych osób na początku naszego stulecia, wydarzenia w małym polskim miasteczku oraz przygody agenta walczącego z grupą terrorystyczną, mają jeden wspólny mianownik. Jednak czytelnik nie odnajdzie go tak szybko. Być może będzie coś podejrzewał, lecz ostatecznie wyjaśnienie będzie nieco odmienne od hipotez zrodzonych w głowie odbiorcy.
Na pewno jest to książka ciekawa, muszę jednak przyznać, że czegoś mi w niej zabrakło. Może był to fakt, iż w tej powieści ostrze satyry Wolskiego jakby się nieco stępiło, a może zakończenie było zbyt proste? Trudno powiedzieć, jednak mimo wszystko zachęcam do przeczytania tego dzieła. Jest warte poświęconego mu czasu.
